Intermittent hypoxic therapy (IHT) is a type of treatment that involves switching between breathing air with lower oxygen levels and regular air. This method mimics the experience of being at high altitudes for short periods, followed by breathing normal air to help the body recover.
The main goal of IHT is to train the body to use oxygen more efficiently. During these sessions, the body makes adjustments on a cellular level, which can lead to increased production of red blood cells, better functioning of the mitochondria (the energy-producing parts of our cells), and improved overall ability to utilise oxygen.

Intermittent hypoxia stimulates your body's natural ability to adapt and activate its healing mechanisms.
Why should you consider having IHT?

With Intermittent Hypoxic Therapy (IHT), at OxyZen we offer a transformative health experience that simulates the effects of high-altitude training.
This therapy provides benefits such as increased stamina, improved metabolic health, enhanced mental clarity, and reduced stress.
IHT supports cardiovascular strength, efficient fat metabolism, and better recovery from chronic conditions—all without requiring extreme workouts or invasive treatments.
This science-backed approach is perfect for anyone looking to optimise physical performance, promote long-term wellness, or feel revitalised.
Imagine feeling more energised, resilient, and healthier by tapping into your body’s natural adaptive abilities.
IHT helps with the following
- Improve mental clarity and cognitive functions
- Slowing ageing process
- Optimising sleep quality

- Improving blood circulation
- Boost energy level
- COPD
- IBS symptoms
- Slowing ageing process
- Increase in endurance
- Strengthening the immune system
- Supporting long COVID symptoms
- Balancing blood sugar level
- Reducing migraines
- Supporting sleep apnoea
What to expect in a IHT session
- During an IHT session, you will lie down and breathe air through a mask.
- An oximeter is placed on a finger.
- The air contains either low oxygen (hypoxia) or high oxygen (hyperoxia). It changes the oxygen concentration in your blood.
- During the session, the oxygen level, the heart rate, and the breathing frequency are monitored.
- You would feel relaxed and, in most cases, will fall asleep.
- A complete session lasts only 30 – 60 minutes.
- After treatment, you can return to normal activities. Strenuous physical exercise should be avoided.
